Foróige NFTE Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2024

'Stick It', a sports stick bag holder from Annamai Condon (16) and Clodagh Desmond (16), from Loreto Secondary School, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary were announced as the overall winner of the Foróige NFTE Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2024 at a ceremony held at Richmond Barracks, Dublin this week. 'Stick It' won the title after competing against over 7,000 young entrepreneurs from all over Ireland through a series of local, county, regional and semi-finals, with a total of 186 local competitions taking place, leading to 30 regional finals. 

Young People from Foróige NFTE Head to The Big Apple

Foróige’s Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship programme attended the second annual World Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge in New York City in mid November 2023. The global competition showcases the incredible talent and creativity of young entrepreneurs from around the globe.

The event brought together 23 students from 11 different countries from around the world to compete in a high-stakes pitch competition at the National Museum of the American Indian in New York City.

‘Simply Soap’ was announced as the overall winner of the Foróige NFTE ‘Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2023’ at a ceremony held at Richmond Barracks, Dublin this week. 

Aimee Hegarty, Abbie Boyle and Aoife Smith from St. Catherine’s Vocational School, Killybegs, Co. Donegal won the award in the ‘Best Business’ category for their innovative idea which involves beautiful authentic hand made soap. The young entrepreneurs use a goats milk base which is rich in Vitamin E and highly moisturising to create these fabulous soaps in lavender, lemongrass vanilla and peppermint.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, Richard Bruton, meets Foróige NFTE scholarship recipients at IT Sligo

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD launched his North East North West Action Plan for Jobs in IT Sligo yesterday and met with graduates of Foróige’s Youth Entrepreneurship programme who are recipients of scholarships to the college. The students are Paul Murphy, Ethan McMullan and Áine Forde. They spoke to the Minister about their experiences as young entrepreneurs, their business ideas and all they have achieved as a result of the scholarship at IT Sligo.

Young people in Drogheda complete personal development, leadership and entrepreneurship programme through the Foróige PAN Youth Project

Young people in the Foróige PAN Youth Project in Drogheda have been fortunate to have been involved in no less than three Foróige programmes over the past 9 months, they are personal development and life skills, and Foróige’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship programmes. A key aim has been to promote community involvement and awareness while building greater self-esteem among participants. The young people are all students at St. Oliver’s Community College. 

Donegal teens crowned Youth Entrepreneurs of the Year 2015 for business which produces tasty treats using seaweed

Four teenagers from Donegal are the winners of the Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2015, organised and run by Foróige, for their business which produces tasty treats using seaweed.

The four were amongst the 1,000 participants from low income communities who set up 600 businesses as part of this year’s Foróige Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) programme, generating a collective turnover of €250,000. 1,000 participants generate €250k turnover in Foróige Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) Programme this year.
