Foróige welcomed into the Oireachtas for Digital Youth Showcase

Young people, volunteers and staff members from Foróige were welcomed into the Oireachtas on Tuesday 4th of July 2023 for a Digital Youth Showcase. ​​

The showcase focussed on how we can mitigate the risks associated with digital technologies and social media platforms, while empowering young people to use technology to their advantage safely and securely.

Members of both Houses of the Oireachtas engaged with young people from around the country who demonstrated youth work in virtual reality, coding, robotics, engineering, artificial intelligence and much more.

Foróige Tyrrelstown Youth Space Now Open

An Taoiseach Leo Varadker TD and Senator Emer Currie helped to launch the brand new Tyrrelstown Youth Space this afternoon, alongside youth workers and young people from the local area.

Tyrrelstown is one of the fastest-growing communities in Dublin 15, and has one of the most diverse populations in the county. The new Youth Space will enable more young people in the area to learn, grow, take part in youth work and get involved with Foróige programmes.

HAY Project Digital Youth Hub Launches

The newly expanded HAY Foróige Digital Youth Hub in Summerhill (Dublin’s north east inner city) has been launched, with increased staff levels and lots of extra services and programmes for young people! 

Junior minister at the Department of Justice, James Browne, attended the launch yesterday and said the expansion of the local wraparound service is welcome to the area.

Foróige Gender Pay Gap Report 2022

2022 is the first time that Foróige have published a Gender Pay Gap Report following enactment of the Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021 legislation which mandates reporting for all organisations with over 250 employees. 

The findings from our gender pay gap analysis show no significant differential between female hourly remuneration as against male hourly remuneration. Foróige operates a range of pay scales within the organisation based on the relevant levels of responsibility and experience. This means that gender is not a factor in determining rates of pay.

Connect Safely Programme Launch

Foróige are delighted to launch the new Connect Safely Programme on Thursday 8th of December!

The launch event will be held in The CHQ Building, beginning at 12pm, with a networking lunch and digital expo showcasing the ways in which young people can interact with the digital world via youth work. We'll also hear from industry experts through exciting panel discussions.
