'What's Working For Young People?' 2 Day Conference in 2014

What’s Working for Young People is a significant international conference being hosted by Foróige that will bring together some of the world’s leading experts in the field of adolescence.  The Conference will explore the most effective and innovative ways of working with young people from policy, practice and research perspectives and with regard to prevention and early intervention. This conference matters, because young people matter and it's time that we as a global society turn up the impact volume for our teenagers. This is a two day conference that will see some of the most accomplished experts in the field of youth development, from policy, practice and research backgrounds, come together to explore the most effective and innovative ways of working with young people.

Who Should Attend?

This conference is aimed at academics and policy makers with an interest in youth development and adolescence, as well as youth work professionals. The content will appeal to an international audience.

Conference Committee

This conference is being organised by a co-operative of organisations and institutions, all of whom are committed to changing the status quo for young people. These include Foróige, the lead partner, along with The National University of Ireland, Galway; The Atlantic Philanthropies; The National Youth Council of Ireland; The Department of Children and Youth Affairs; The Centre for Effective Services and Archways.

Submissions

(including possibilities and opportunities, examples of good practice, innovative programmes, research findings and reflective pieces) are sought in relation to the following themes as they relate to young people:
