The Secret Millionaire from RTÉ television has paid a visit to one of Foróige's youth projects, the Ballybane Traveller Youth Project in Co. Galway. Entrepreneur Enda O’Coineen has gifted the project with a donation of €5,000. Not only that, a small group of the young people will be taken to New Zealand in January to take a 10 day sailing course on the Spirit of Adventure Tall Ship. Enda is the founding Chairman of Let's Do It Global Ltd, the non-profit body that brought the Volvo Ocean Race to Ireland in May 2009. He is also the founder of Kilcullen Kapital (an investment management firm), the author of four books and a former correspondent for the Irish Times.

Foróige's Youth Development Projects target young people and assist them to develop confidence and communication skills. The mission is to empower young people to consciously and actively make a contribution to their own development and to the development of society. The project uses a logic model framework for planning and evaluation. Outcomes are centred on the young person’s ability to make decisions, identify local needs and through active participation and citizenship identify and implement a course of action to address these.

We are bowled over by this positive, uplifting news! We'll publish the broadcast date and time as soon as we learn more but it’s expected the show will go out in late September.
