There was a pleasant ramble down memory lane for past and present members of Kanturk Foroige Club on Friday 27th September. In excess of 400 people turned up to celebrate the Kanturk Foróige Club Gathering!
Crowes Bar in Bohermore in Co.Galway was rocking on Thursday 3rd October when Galway 'Friends of Foróige' held a Rock n' Roll Bingo Fundraiser! This was no ordinary Bingo game. Only the best head-banging tunes were selected! When participants heard the right tune, they put an X on the sheet.
'Strictly Foróige' will take place on Friday 8th November in the Red Cow Hotel at 8pm. The team at Foróige Tallaght have created this exciting dance event to help maintain youth services to young people all across Tallaght. 16 couples will perform on the night and will showcase a variety of dance styles based on their own interests and talent.
Foróige has been featured in an episode of The Secret Millionaire on RTÉ 1. This was an uplifting, powerful programme during which several Galway based charitable initiatives, incl. a Foróige youth project, got very lucky indeed. In the programme, Enda O'Coineen aka. the 'Unsinkable Entrepreneur' goes on a mission to help young people and show them that through sailing they can gain the skills and discipline to help them through life.
Congratulations to all who took part in NFTE University training this year. 35 teachers and youth workers from Sligo, Donegal, Galway, Dublin, Roscommon, Leitrim, Tipperary and Belfast have participated in the Foróige Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship's interactive 2-day training course which equips trainees with the skills and expertise to deliver the NFTE programme to young people throughout the country. On successful completion of NFTE University, teachers and youth workers become a Certified Entrepreneurship Trainer or CET.
What’s Working for Young People is a significant international conference being hosted by Foróige that will bring together some of the world’s leading experts in the field of adolescence. The Conference will explore the most effective and innovative ways of working with young people from policy, practice and research perspectives and with regard to prevention and early intervention.
