'Friends of Foróige' in Co. Offaly organised a Barn Dance on Friday the 23rd August which was attended by more than 100 people. The event boasted a barbeque and country and western band 'Midnight Boogie.

Barbara Daly who is a member of the Offaly 'Friends of Foróige group said "I couldn't get over the amount of goodwill from the businesses in the Offaly area ‘It is fantastic to see that businesses in Offaly are aware and appreciate the good work of Foróige in the county."

The Thatch pub in Rahan kindly provided the band for the occasion, meaning that all money raised will go directly towards financing programmes and services run by Foróige nationwide. The barbeque food was sponsored by Gerry Fallon, Athlone and Rudd Meats in Birr. Raffle prizes were provided by the Bridge House Hotel, the Central Hotel, the Wolf Trap, Corrigans Corner House, Ferbane Pharmacy, Kelly Newsagents and Horans Chemists.  Foróige is an integral part of community life all around Offaly with 30 Foróige clubs in the county.
