The programme aims to enable LGBTI+ and ally young people to develop the skills, inspiration, vision, confidence, and action plans to be effective leaders, and to make a positive difference to their community through the practice of effective leadership.

The LGBTI+ Youth Leadership Programme is brought to you by Foróige, and supported by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, and Youth. The programme is open to all LGBTI+ young people aged 15-18 years and 19-24 years, and there are two streams within the programme for the two age groups.

15 - 18 Year old Programme
The 15-18 year old programme, an adapted version of Foróige's Leadership for Life programme, will be facilitated online and in-person residential sessions which include a mix of interactive activities, group work, discussion and individual reflection. The programme gives you the opportunity to learn and develop critical skills such as teamwork, problem solving, communication, critical thinking, goal setting, research skills etc.
19-24 Year old Programme
This is a leadership development programme for people aged 19-24. The focus will be on developing themselves as advocates for change and developing such skills to equip them as influential positive leaders in today's society.
Each programme will also include a workshop on LGBTI+ specific topics such as:
- Language, Terminology and Identity
- LGBTI+ History
- LGBTI+ Young People in Ireland Today
- Combatting Discrimination
The programmes will be running through various dates in January and February 2023 - further information available on the Registration Form.
