The ETB club grant scheme

Could your club use up to €3,000 over the next year?

We strongly encourage all Foróige volunteer led clubs to apply for the ETB youth club grant scheme. This year the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Inclusion and Youth Affairs has allocated 2.25 million euro for clubs, to be distributed through the ETBs (Education and Training Boards). The maximum available per club is 3,000, though it may be less where an ETB has a lot of applications.

When and how can we apply?

Each ETB set is own deadline. Some are doing it now – others waiting until later in the summer. The ETB sometimes notifies clubs directly, sometimes advertises the grants in the paper. Your Foróige staff person will know the date and be able to support you with the application. Application is by way of a form which the ETB will send you, along with a report on how you spent last year’s grant – if you got one. You may be able to down load the form from your ETB Website too.

What can we use the grant for?

The grant is very flexible and is designed to support the day to day work of youth development. So your club can use it for rent of your premises, fees, bus hire, day trips, paying for programme speakers or tutors, light and heat bills, PPE, food, games materials, Arts and Crafts material, etc. It is not an equipment grant- it is for day to day expenses.

How will Foróige support us with this?

Foróige District Councils and staff may host workshops or advice sessions on completing the grant form, and staff will also be available to answer questions you may have.
